TRANSIT TOWN

This summer, we were thrilled to participate in Keizer Blast Camp—a free summer program for youth of all ages organized by the Keizer Fire District, Keizer Police Department and Marion County Fire District.

Because Blast Camp is entirely designed to teach children how to be safer, more responsible citizens, it provided us the perfect venue to debut our newly redesigned Pedestrian Safety Curriculum.

We piloted our brand-new Transit Town layout. Children immerse themselves in a temporary town environment designed to resemble Salem-Keizer, assuming roles as pedestrians, workers, and motorists.

As part of their activities, students map out their own routes to locate specific checkpoints and task throughout the mini-city.

Transit Town is an adaptable teaching resource to use indoors or outdoors.

We are eager to offer our new curriculum to Salem-Keizer Public Schools for the next academic year!
